…and the #Grammy goes to…Designer #Original or #Knockoff
Last night when I tuned in to the coverage of the 2015 Grammys "On the red carpet", I couldn't help but think... if the camera adds 10lbs then Giuliana Rancic must be a wisp of a woman. To each his own but I think a woman looks better with some curves. I hope she isn't ill. When she skillfully handed the mic over to Ryan Seacrest, he was interviewing Madonna.
As I tuned in and out of the red carpet coverage, I noticed that everyone was complementing Seacrest on how great his suit looked...and they were right.
During the actual Award show I finally lost interest when Kanye performed in the dark. WTF was that about?!
What was my takeaway from yet another Award show? It was more of a question than a lesson. Why did they all look so happy with themselves? Were they all feeling fortunate that they were being recognized for their talents? Or were they feeling privileged that designers and stylists were falling over themselves for the opportunity to dress them, perpetuating the notion that those of us without the celebrity status or the budget to be constantly dressed in designer this + that are peasants who have to resort to Designer knock offs!
Whats your take on the Designer #Original vs #knockoff debate?
Madonna looked (cheeky) fierce in her bull fighting costume. Later that night her performance confirmed her icon status.
The fit of Chrissy Teigen's gown was quite immaculate. Those ladders were well placed…John's grin said a lot.
Gwen Stefani looked amazing but why wasn't she wearing one of her own creations?
Congratulations to Pentatonix for their big win.
Neil Portnow...Who? THE PRESIDENT of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Funny I worked on the launch of Ryan Seacrest Suits for Macy's. You're so right he did look good but who wore it best Ryan or LL?
ReplyDeleteI agree with the quote "The Suit doesn't make the man, The Man makes the Suit" but add a master tailor to the mix and even Chris Brown / Mel Gibson could seal the 1st impressions deal.
